GET TO KNOW DEVIL'S SLIDE TAP ROOM
Tell us how the idea of devils slide came together.
Shane and Theresa had recently had their first child and Theresa's parents (who are from Sonoma County) were visiting their first granddaughter quite often. Her dad was doing errands around town, and he saw an empty space in the Pedro Point Shopping center. He came back to their house and said, "You know what this town needs? A taproom."
Who owns devils slide and what are your stories.
Shane and Theresa own and run Devil's Slide. They were both working and commuting to Concord from Pacifica. Shane was a logistics manager and Theresa was a marketing assistant. They had their first child and were dreading having to commute 2+ hours with an infant. So when Theresa's dad threw out the idea of a taproom in town, Shane and Theresa jumped at the idea of having a less than 5 minute commute. Shane has been surfing in Pacifica for 20+ years and now that he and Theresa run a business here in town, it definitely gives them a sense of community and they love meeting all the families, (they have two small children, 4 and 2- themselves) and the locals and tourists that frequent the taproom.
How did you come up with the name?
We were trying to think of landmarks that were close to the space we were going to build out. With the location of the space being so close to Highway 1 and there already being an approval to shut down the old "Devil's Slide" section of Highway 1, we thought it would be great to pay homage to the infamous section of highway.
